On behalf of Teton Valley Community Recycling’s board of directors and myself, thank you to all attendees, participants, donors, and sponsors of our Trasho’ween trash bash celebration on Saturday, October 24th. Funds raised will go towards local waste reduction and recycling programs in Teton Valley. Trash bash funds give us the flexibility to pursue small projects with short timelines, and provide match funding for grants to support larger projects.
I would like to sincerely thank our Trasho’ween sponsors: RAD Curbside, Peaked Sports, Harmony Design and Engineering, Teton Valley News, Grand Teton Brewing, and Grand Targhee Resort. Special thanks goes out to Isabel Waddell of Izzy’s Oils and Empowerment who sponsored, coordinated, and awarded prize money our first ever Upcycle Teton Valley Sale at the event, featuring functional upcycled home décor and furniture. Thanks also to Three Peaks Catering for providing delicious food, DJ Liam Tallaferro/Beats of Cabella for great tunes, as well as the City of Driggs and Seniors West of the Tetons for the event location. Event volunteers Ashley Koehler, Al Young, Jennifer Zung, Isabel and Rick Waddell, Ellen Ewankow, Emily Selleck, Pete Brannen, Jill Siewart, Mac Dukart, Vancy Turner, Caroline Herter Winship, Alice Stevenson, Tanya Anderson, Julie Geng, Daria Simoneh, Sue Lincoln, photographer Kent Werlin, emcee Karin Bivens, and judges Ralph Mossman, Philbin deGot Schulz, and Sabine Shannon were critical to the success of the event.
The TVCR board and a handful of event volunteers have spent months planning the event. In addition, I’d like to thank the upcycle sale artists and trashion designers and models, who devoted many hours working on their amazingly creative outfits and furniture that helped make the event lots of fun and rewarding! Many thanks to the businesses and individuals who also donated items for the trash bash raffle and to our recycling supporters who helped advertise the event! These include: Grand Targhee Resort, Peaked Sports, Targhee Crossfit, RAD Curbside, Reclaim Fabrics, Izzy’s Oils and Empowerment, Bio-Diverse Gardening, MD Nursery & Landscaping, the Victor Emporium, “Jill E. Bean,” John and Linda Prentice, and any others I may have inadvertently missed. Our sponsors and volunteers help make our work possible, and help us shed the light on local waste reduction and recycling efforts in our community. You all are amazing.
With gratitude,
Jen Werlin, Executive Director Teton Valley Community Recycling
