TerraCycle, the company that harnesses manufacturers to pay for collection and processing of “hard to recycle waste” is growing in popularity. Here in Teton County, Teton Valley Community Recycling volunteers have been collecting a growing array of waste materials to recycle through this program at two local sites – the GeoTourism Center in Driggs (open 24 hours/day) and the General Laundry in Victor (open 7am-10pm daily).
Here is a printable list of everything we currently collect.
Please print a copy to put on a can or a box to collect your items at home, school, or office. You can bring them in to one of the collection sites and sort every month or two. From there, we’ll collect it, box it up, and ship it to the specialized recycling facility to be made into new products. (NOTE: TerraCycle materials are NOT accepted through RAD Curbside or at the County Transfer Station Recycling Bins.)
Please do not bring dirty items or any items not on the list. Our volunteers have to pick out these contaminating items for disposal. If collections are routinely contaminated, we will have to discontinue them.
