CALL FOR ARTISTS AND CREATIVE UPCYCLERS
“Upcycled” Art Contest and Art Auction at TVCR’s Annual Trash Bash fundraiser on October 4, 2019
To enter or for more info, contact sue@tetonrecycling.org
Teton Valley Community Recycling is calling on all artists and crafters to enter a piece in our Upcycled Art Contest at the Trash Bash on October 4th. Bring out your inner artist and find a fun used item to repurpose! See the possibilities and find new life for old stuff. There must be something that you can remake into a fun craft or art piece—visit your basement or tool shed and discover a hidden treasure.
All ages are welcome. The only guideline for the Upcycled Art contest is that entries must be made up of mainly used materials and be hand-created. Everything from fabric art to wooden bird feeders to re-using old metal bits in a sculpture, it’s all welcomed!
All artists receive free entry to the Trash Bash party (including live music, food/drink for purchase, and a chance to enjoy the region’s only Trashion Show of Wearable Art. Click here for more information about designing an outfit for the Trashion Show.)
We welcome you to donate your creation to our Upcycled Art Auction – all proceeds support TVCR’s education and outreach programs. Or if you’d prefer, you can just enter your project in the contest and take it home afterwards.

What is Upcycling?
For generations, artists have found beauty in objects discarded by others and choose to extend the life of the materials through creative “upcycling” and turning a piece of trash into treasure. Items can be practical and useful or just aesthetically pleasing.
Here are some fun examples. The sky is the limit on what you choose to create.
Who is TVCR?
Teton Valley Community Recycling is the local non-profit whose mission is to develop ethical waste reduction solutions that are financially and environmentally sound for our community. Our vision is a healthy community that reduces, reuses, recycles, and rethinks its way toward zero waste. Our focus is collaboration, education, and advocacy. Some of our recent projects you may be familiar with include:
- Mobile Hydration Station to reduce plastic water bottle waste at local events
- TerraCycle Program to allow residents to recycle “hard to recycle” waste
- Recycling Education Center at the GeoTourism Center
- Construction & Demolition waste reduction efforts with local contractors
- Free compost bins for residents to reduce landfill bound food waste
And much, much more!
Thanks for your support through reducing, reusing, recycling and participating in our Trash Bash fundraiser.
