Monday’s Town Hall Meeting focused on Construction and Demolition waste sorting rebates for contractors and DIY remodelers marks the open period for applications to receive free services and cash reimbursements. Due to road closures and winter weather, the meeting attendance was low, but you can find the slide show and recording from this Town Hall Meeting on the Teton County website (tetoncountyidaho.gov) under Meetings. There is also a direct link to all application materials at tetonrecycling.org (under Programs & Events) as well as educational videos and information on what materials are classified as “Sorted” waste. Teton County already heavily subsidizes sorted waste loads ($15/ton vs. $210 for unsorted construction waste), but we hope to provide even more incentive to build good sorting habits.
Services and rebates you may be eligible for include:
1) Free Dumpster Signs (for sorted materials including wood, drywall, metal, and concrete)
2) Free garbage cans or RAD Curbside garbage service to keep lunch waste out of sorted loads
3) Free cardboard recycling service through RAD Curbside for corrugated cardboard appliance boxes and trim (finish work)
4) Cash reimbursements for qualified clean lumber loads delivered to the Transfer Station
Quantities are limited, but total over $17,000 cash paid out to local builders and remodelers. Applications are due April 30, 2019 for reimbursements through September 1, 2019 when the grant period closes. The application process includes having a valid local building permit (county or city), completing a one-page application, and completing a 2 page Waste Diversion worksheet.
All application material should be submitted to Teton Valley Community Recycling, PO Box 1193, Driggs, ID 83422 or emailed to tetonrecycling@gmail.com. Please contact us with any questions after visiting our website tetonrecycling.org. All local construction and remodel projects are eligible to apply, including Alta, WY.
